WHQL Approves ATI Catalyst 10.3 Drivers

Finally ATI has produced a WHQL approved version of Catalyst 10.3 driver set. They are designed primarily for the HD 4000 and 5000 series of video cards.  They are available for both the 32 and 64-bit versions of Windows XP, Vista and 7 at the game.amd website at the following link http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx.

New Features

  • Better mobility support
  • Extended Eyefinity features
  • 3D stereoscopic drivers

In addition to the improvements mentioned above, the new driver suite will provide better overall performance for the following games:

3DMark Vantage – a 3, 6 and 8% increase for ATI Radeon HD 5700, 5800 and 5970 Series products respectively

Aliens vs. Predator – a 5% increase for ATI Radeon HD 5000 Series products respectively

Battleforge – a 3 and 8% increase for ATI Radeon HD 4800 and 5000Series products respectively

Call of Duty: World at War – a 2 and 6% increase for ATI Radeon HD 4800 and 5000 Series products respectively

Company of Heroes – a 3 and 6% increase for ATI Radeon HD 4800 and 5000 Series products respectively

Crysis and Crysis Warhead – a 2 and 6% increase for ATI Radeon HD 4800 and 5000 Series products respectively

Devil May Cry 4 – a 6 and 10% increase for ATI Radeon HD 4800 and 5000 Series products respectively

DiRT 2 – a 10, 20 and 30 % increase for ATI Radeon HD 4800, 5800 and 5970 Series products respectively

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars – a 2 and 5 % increase for ATI Radeon HD 4800, 5700 and 5800 Series products respectively

Far Cry 24 – a 4 and 6% increase for ATI Radeon HD 4800 and 5000 Series products respectively

Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 – a 3% increase on ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series products

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. – Call of Pripyat Benchmark – up to 10% with Anti-Aliasing enabled on ATI Radeon HD 5000 Series products

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. – Clear Sky – a 2% increase on ATI Radeon HD 5800 and 5970 Series products espectively

Resident Evil 5 – a 3 and 5% increase for ATI Radeon HD 4800 and 5000 Series products respectively

Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X. 5 – a 3% on the HD 4800, 15% on the HD 5970 and a 20% increase for ATI Radeon HD 5700 and 5800 Series products respectively

Unigine Tropics – up to 5% on ATI Radeon HD 5000 Series products

World in Conflict – a 5, 3 and 5 % increase for ATI Radeon HD 4800, 5700 and 5800 Series products respectively

Wolfenstein – a 4% increase on ATI Radeon HD 4800 and 5000 Series products respectively

Summary

With this new driver suite and its commitment to release updates on a monthly basis if possible, ATI is definitely putting a hurting on Nvidia.
